odnosu stoji s druge strane. Kao u svakom dobrom komadu, Bojčev se
politike dodiruje tek usput, pa nam nudi i niz drugih sasvim ljudskih
pitanja. Njegovi luđaci "normalnima" postaju tek kad svom životu
daju određenu formu i pred sebe postave neki društveno čitljiv cilj.

Boytchev THE COLONEL BIRD >
Directed
by Nenni Delmestre >
The Colonel Bird is a satirical play by Bulgarian author Hristo Boytchev,
in which six lunatics form a military unit, a state, wilfully trying to
join the NATO and the European Union. When they arrive in the heart of
Europe, they are treated like beggars. This play argues about a harsh
treatment given to the Balkan countries by the EU, but also a naïve
perception on the other side of that relationship. As in every good play, Boytchev
makes only a passing reference to politics, offering a number of other
quite human issues. His lunatics become “normal” only when they give
certain shape to their lives setting themselves a socially clear aim. This
dark comedy is one of the most performed and most rewarded scripts from
Eastern Europe in the last decade. The performance in Split is its
Croatian première.
