Maestro Nikša Bareza is the artistic director of the Croatian National Theatre in Split. He started his successful international career in the seventhies. He has conducted orchestras of worldwide reputation: Nurnberg Philharmonic, Kirov Theatre Orchestra in Leningrad, Bolshoj Theatre Orchestra in Moscow, State Opera of Vienna, in Paris the ORF orchestra, State Opera in Hamburg, Opera House in Zurich, Opera House in Graz, Teatro La Fenice in Venice. In Graz he staged the complete tetralogy of The Ring of the Niebelungs by R. Wagner. The performance was proclaimed as the musical event of the season. After that maestro Bareza received the invitation from Milan's La Scala where he conducted Persifal, Manon Lescaut, The Sunset of the Gods, and thid season he will conduct Beethoven's Fidelio. |
