Gagik Ismailian before starting his career as a choreographer had a successful
international dancing career. This classical ballet artist came in 1978 from London to
Lisbon, where he became a member of the Gulbenkian Ballet. In
Lisbon he has worked with choreographers of neoclassicist, modern and avant-garde
expression, which esentially influenced his dancing style and stimulated his choreographic
affinities. Gagik Ismailian is a choreographer who always explores new techniques of
dancing combining them with strong emotional conditions so his style is often considered
