FILIP ŠOVAGOVIĆ was born on September 3 1966. in Zagreb. Father, son, grandson and a brother. He's served in two armies, lived through reform and revolution. Member of a generation who gets asked nothing by nobody. He was in schools «August Šenoa», «Seven secretaries of Socialist-communist youth of Yugoslavia» and «Educational centre for languages». Has studied acting on «Academy for dramatic arts». Is finishing film directing on the same Academy. He's the author of the drama «Zvonimir Zajc», «Brick» and «The Birdies». For the «Brick» he was awarded with the prize of Association of dramatic artists for the best staged text in the 1998/1999 season in the production of Croatian national theatre in Split. He took part in around thirty films and that many theatre performances. As an actor, he's permanently employed in Dramatic theatre «Gavella» in Zagreb. In theatre he took part in performances by Checkov, Beckett, Turgeniev, Shakespeare, Jovanović, Šoljan, Coltes, Vujić, Šovagović…in films by Grlić, Tribuson, Smodlaka, Nola, Hribar, Schmidt, Kušan, Ogresta, Snježana Tribuson, Pavličić, Hitrec….As a director and screenplayer he took part in three short films : «Say no», «The tree of life», «On grass» and was a co-director of performance «Waiting for Godot» by Samuel Beckett in Zagreb Theatre &TD. He has assisted to directors Božidar Violić and Branko Ivanda. |
